These pieces serve as a blueprint. If a particular design calls to you, I can forge a similar version tailored to your story—or we can develop a completely unique custom request from scratch. Either way, the result is a singular masterpiece. I don’t do duplicates; I only do originals.
See a design you love but it's sold? Want to make it truly yours? Adapt any style, color, or artwork to create a piece that is exclusively yours.
The Story: From the Fire Line to the Fine Line
For two decades, my relationship with fire was one of conflict and respect. As a wildland firefighter, I spent my summers in the backcountry, watching how heat transformed the landscape—the way it scorched the earth, blackened the timber, and demanded total focus.
But during the quiet stretches between rolls, and in the long winters off the line, I found another way to interact with the flame.
A Lifelong Pursuit
Art has always been my grounding force. Long before I picked up a Pulaski, I was a hobbyist, sketching on whatever scrap of paper I could find. It was my way of processing the world. Eventually, those sketches found their way onto a more permanent medium: felt.
Pyrography—the art of "writing with fire"—became the bridge between my two worlds. I realized that the same element I worked with in the forest could be harnessed with precision to create something beautiful, permanent, and deeply personal.
The Wearable Gallery
What started as downtime during the off-season has evolved into a professional mission. I realized that a hat is more than just protection from the sun; it is a blank canvas with a story to tell.
Today, I’m moving from a lifelong hobby into a dedicated official capacity as an artist. Every hat in my collection is a piece of that journey:
- The Medium: Premium, rugged felt that stands the test of time.
- The Method: Hand-etched pyrography, where every stroke is a deliberate interaction with heat.
- The Result: A wearable gallery that carries the soul of the wilderness and the precision of a craftsman.
A New Chapter
I’m no longer just observing the fire; I’m directing it. I take the "generic" and make it singular. When you wear one of these hats, you aren’t just wearing a piece of headwear—you’re wearing a story of transformation, grit, and the beauty that can be found when we learn to work with the elements rather than against them.
